Kathleen Williams is the Founder and President of the Board of Directors. Kathleen graduated from Christendom College and recieved a BA in Catholic Theology. She also partially completed an MA in Business at the Universtiy of Toledo until she married and became a mother.
From the time Kathleen claimed her major in Theology, it has been her life dream to open a liberal arts academy in the Catholic tradition. Having studied Aesthetical and Mystical Theology, she appreciates the importance of an authentic Catholic education, based upon the teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas and Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange, and it's capacity to assist parents in the spiritual formation of their children, beginning in their earliest years.
Kathleen was the Founder and President of the former St. Augustine's Homeschool Enrichment Program in Toledo from 2011-2017. The HEP served more than 100 children during those years, providing them with a Catholic community in which to study
and grow in their Faith together.
As the President of St Augustine's HEP, Kathleen studied a vast number of textbooks and curiculum maps to create the curriculum, in conjunction with the HEP families, to be used in the Program. Since then, she has combined the aforementioned research with a deeper curriculum study based on discussions with Catholic classical and non-classical school administrators, teachers, and homeschooling parents about their experience using various texts in and out of the classroom, to develop the curriculum used at St. Thomas Aquinas Classical Academy and HEP.
Kathleen is married to Shawn Williams and is a mother to 5 children, 4 boys and a little girl. She has been an educator for 33 years, beginning as a fifth and sixth grade teacher for Holy Angels Academy in Louisville, KY in 1992. Having homeschooled all of her children through eighth grade and her youngest son through his junior year of high school, she gained extensive experience teaching diverse grade levels at the same time, adapting each lesson to 5 unique students, and developing her own curriculum. Kathleen has also taught History, Science, Latin, and Theology in several high schools, grade schools, and homeschool programs in Ohio during this time, operated her own Irish Dance Academy in Virginia, and participated in a classical apprenticeship, receiving training in mimetic and Socratic teaching.
Kathleen is passionate about the beauty and richness of the Roman Catholic Faith and its traditions, authentic Catholic education, and the importance of the liberal arts
in the formation and salvation of our children's souls.
After spending six years discerning a vocation in religious life, Perry discovered God was calling him to help educate the faithful as a layman.
His years in religious life prepared him both spiritually and intellectually for this vocation and has profoundly shaped the way he lives and looks at the world.
During his time in the seminary, Perry pursued a major in Philosophy and Theology and received a MA in Philosophy. It is his great aspiration to educate others about the Catholic Faith, so that Holy Mother Church may be loved for her truth and immense beauty and so that her doctrine may be easily defended.
Through his instruction and personal study, Perry has found that education based on the Angelic Doctor, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange, provides both the intellectual foundation and moral formation which presents the most clear and profound understanding of the Catholic Faith.
Perry and his new wife, Paloma, live in Cleveland, Ohio. He currently teaches Latin and Theology (and sometimes Euclid Geometry) to 7th-10th grade students at Padre Pio Academy, a liberal arts school in the Catholic tradition, where he has taught for the last two years. Additionally, Perry teaches Spiritual Theology, Catechism, and Dogmatic Theology to Padre Pio parents and others who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith.
Paloma is a clinical psychologist and a psychotherapist. She graduated from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) and was trained as a psychotherapist at the Peruvian Institute of Humanistic Psychotherapy (IPPH). She has four years of experience working in diverse settings, including businesses, universities, schools, and private practice.
Paloma has also participated in, lead, and organized the catechetical education of adolescents for eight consecutive years, as well as retreats and informational meetings for parents. She has also lead a series of Catholic psychology lectures for her parish, which greatly influence the life of her community.
As a Catholic psychotherapist, Paloma will offer our children the opportunity to deepen their spiritualiity by assisting them, not only in recognizing their unique strengths and weaknesses, but also any wounds which may pose an obstacle to their spiritual growth in wisdom and virtue. Additionally, Paloma will also be of great assistance to parents who may struggle to support the mental, emotional, and/or spiritual development of their children, who may be resistant to grace or growth in virtue.
Paloma's wisdom as a psychologist and psychotherapist offers St. Thomas Aquinas Classical Academy and HEP a great breadth of knowledge, understanding, and inspiration to support our children and families
in their pursuit of sanctity.
Paloma lives with her husband, Perry, in Cleveland, Ohio, where she teaches Catholic Psychology to Padre Pio Academy parents.
"My priority is to facilitate the healing of emotional wounds and the correction of dysfunctional patterns, promoting an integrated mental health and spiritual well-being from a Catholic Faith perspective."
